Here are some steps to take if you are missing breakout rooms in your Meet. If you have NEVER had breakroom before, your account may not set up for breakout rooms, please open a ticket.
- Make sure that another staff member does not have the breakout rooms in the Meet. If the Meet was created via classroom or a nickname, the first staff member in owns the Meet.
- Confirm that you do NOT have any Google Meet extensions (e.g. breakout room extensions, etc) installed. Here is how you view and remove extensions.
- Clear browsing data and reset chrome.
- Leave the Meet and then rejoin. (Students do not have to leave)
- If that doesn't work, have the teacher AND students leave, reset the link and try again.
If there are still no breakout rooms - take a screenshot of the Meet to show the code and what functionality is available. Forward this information to the help desk.
Many Google enhancements are breaking or at least conflicting with 3rd party extensions.
