I found that this is a known night light issue that is a chrome bug with the Display. When I turned off the Night Light feature it resolved . Can the student use the dim and brightness buttons instead???
Here is how to get to the night Light button
Open up the system tray and see that Night Light is on
Then click on it and this page opens up and toggle to the left.
