If you are having trouble linking your Google Classroom to your Aspen gradebook, please check the following on your end:
- Google Classroom does not work with teachers who have combined sections into a "Class" in Aspen AND combined Gradebooks. If they have combined gradebooks, then only the primary section grades will pass back to Aspen.
- Google Classroom can have trouble passing back Categories to Aspen. All Assignments come in as OneRosterDefault. In this case, teachers should edit the Default Points on their Categories in the Gradebook > Categories side tab. When they switch an assignment from OneRosterDefault to their Category, it can pull in the Default Total Points of that Category and they may thus need to update the Assignment Total Points.
- Have a default grade scale set on either your sections or in your gradebook preferences. You can set a default grade scale in your preferences by clicking your username on the top right and selecting 'Set Preferences', then populating the grade scale near the bottom of the 'Gradebook' tab in the popup. Alternatively, you can go through each of your sections under Gradebook > Details and change the 'Averages grade scale' to the desired grade scale.
