Student Chromebook Mic Not Recording?
Students using a mic to record in a program must make sure they click “Allow” when prompted by the program. This message should pop up the first time they try to use the mic in a new program. If they close or skip without hitting allow, the mic will not work in the program.
Check the Privacy Control settings to enable microphone access if it is blocked.
The mic can also inadvertently get muted. To check and see if the mic is muted, open the system tray and click the arrow next to the volume setting to see more audio settings. You can then see if the Mic is muted. If it is muted, just click to unmute.
