We have a box of iPads to facilitate language interpretation at after school family events. The box is stored in the WPS IT Department and schools can request its use via a ticket.

There are two types of interpretations that schools can request:

  1. Livestream interpretation is one-way -- a teacher or presenter speaks and the audience listens. Good for Curriculum Night, awards ceremonies, etc.
  2. Conversation-Style interpretation is two-way -- a teacher or staff member has a back-and-forth conversation with an individual family member. Good for parent-teacher conferences, IEP meetings, etc.

The following "full instructions" were shared with school principals and secretaries. Each school's main office is responsible for ordering the Lexikeet interpretation service in advance and completing the communication and setup instructions

  1. Livestream Interpretation Instructions for the Main Office
  2. Conversation-Style Instructions for the Main Office
